We know when he's all about her.
When John Kerry embraced wife, Teresa at the conclusion of his 2004 acceptance speech, the heat off those two nearly lit my television afire. This was no Al Gore mash. This was one hot couple.
What stood in stark contrast were John and Elizabeth Edwards.
With the Kerry's still locked in a very private moment in a very public place, Edwards shared a compulsory hug with his wife before breaking free, soaking up the moment on his own, barely acknowledging his wife.
That night, the thought flitted through my mind before the couple's body language registered in my mind's eye. That guy's a player.
When Edwards confirmed today that he did indeed cheat on his wonderful wife and had then, had the cohones to blame his choice to do so on narcissism, another thought crossed my mind.
You suck, John. Really suck.

Fast forward the video to 49 minutes to view the candidates and their wives at the 2004 Democratic convention.

You can tell he's self-assured.
I still think that he and I both think that elizabeth edwards is stand-alone sexy, pretty, the mother of his children and he's a dude under a lot of pressure who shared the grave loss of his eldest son with her. Went on to have two more children, tried to put the pieces back together and did the best he could.
Who knows if someone slipped him some mild X? and them some sex??

He finds out his wife is going to die and ya have to know that people do things at times like that which they'd never do again or ever, normally. People do flip.
Anyway, I think the timing is a little questionable considering that obama now has some wiggle room on the nomination and that's pretty obvious how it was played.
But, to each their own.
Why would this be career destroying?
Why should we even KNOW?
Like with clinton it should be a private matter.

I can hardly wait to see the obama choice.
It's scary to contemplate.

Oh and I think that I've read a number of times how husbands do this to their wives when they are diagnosed. The wives pretty much understand so that's where I get my outrageous ideas, too. It may be kind of normal.

True, Vox. But I'm not the first one who noticed. I read somewhere--maybe over at Huff Post that Edwards is never warm to Elizabeth, referring to his wife as "her" or "she". And you are right--it isn't our business...it's just that I noticed it four years ago, two years before the "affair"--so, knowing that the media is like a bunch of frigging vultures, why would he lie about it and feel he wouldn't get caught? I guess that's the narcissist part.
Hey MsC...What caught my attention that night is Elizabeth had worn the same blue suit two nights in a row. I just was stunned by that, being the transparent fashionista that I am...so, I was really tuned into her. It wasn't very long before I forgot the outfit and watched him. I felt so bad for her.
wow, different when i saw him in person. he said her name a number of times (loud applause) and on videos. I don't watch tv so you'd be more up on that.
AND, I must say that I don't read huff at all anymore.
I never did read them much.
I like some of the writers and every now and then will go for one but too many of them have left me going .. oh, whatever.
But, that's just me.
He better act right towards his wife or deserve a good ass-kicking or just get a divorce already. That could be her choice, too.
